How did this fad come to be and how did this all start?

Contrary to what most people believe, it’s not Lance Armstrong that started the fad. This accessory has been around since the 80′s and if you knew about its humble beginnings, you will be surprised with how it turned out to be.
Silicone Bracelets were first used as accessories during the 80′s. To be frank, it was never intended to be a fashion statement. During this time when women spent tons of money on hair spray and snake skin skirts, a kind of music was developed. It’s a genre that was usually associated with society’s young menaces and rebels. Punk Rock enthusiasts have always been what we would consider “Social Deviants” and as such, those kids didn’t want to conform to the norms. They developed their own identity and created their own fashion.

As an anti fashion statement, these “Punks” wore black rubber bands on their wrists as they rocked their youth away. That is why it is quite surprising to see that almost everyone today is using the very accessory that was meant to deviate from what was considered a fad.
Then, between the late 80′s to the early 90′s, two rising teen pop stars rocked the world with their absurd fashion and rebellious attitudes. These two teen pop stars were Cindy Lauper and Madonna. Sometime during the early parts of their career, when their hair was still dyed pink and purple, they also wore Silicone Bracelets as part of their get up.
These two teen idols, just like the enthusiasts of Punk Rock never really conformed to the popular fashion of the time. They instead, influenced other teens to dress up like them. This urban legend was taken seriously by a lot of parents that Silicone Bracelets were banned from various High Schools around the United States.
This urban legend, involved a sex game called “Snap”. According to legend, the game had a very simple rule, just snap a Silicon Bracelet from someone and depending on the color of the band you snap, you’ll get sexual favors from that person ranging from hugging to sexual intercourse.
Of course, there’s no truth to this rumor. At least that’s what most teens would say. It was a foolish game to begin with and kids couldn’t really do something like that. The Bracelet was too thick for one person to just snap from another person that it was an almost impossible game to win. Nonetheless, parents has serious concern over this rumor that the cheap accessory was banned.
Then, some time during the middle part of the first decade of the second millennium, Lance Armstrong wore his yellow Silicone Bracelet as a sign of his battle against Cancer and support to Cancer Victims and Survivors.
This was the first time that anyone used the cheap material for any kind of noble cause.
After Lance Armstrong introduced this object to the world as an icon to his noble objectives, everybody started following his example and started using Silicon Bracelets for many campaigns and awareness programs.

Haute-Couture Collections Take Paris Fashion Show By Storm
Paris fashion week is now over and the latest fashion sensations for the autumn/winter 2006/07 season have been released.
The usual stars of the haute couture collections, such as the John Galliano designs for Christian Dior, did not disappoint. The Dior show was themed around medieval armour and the Italian renaissance, with a touch of Blade Runner thrown in. Helmets encrusted with jewels, glass beads and crystals, with silver foil, bin liners and pennants used to evoke a modernised sense of knights jousting while the ladies of the court, wearing make up influenced by the paintings of Van Eyck and Botticelli, paraded along the cat walk. Armorial style was further enhanced by milliner Stephen Jones who was brought in to create replicas of medieval armour using copper and brass through to even less traditional materials such as latex, beads and feathers.
Kylie Minogue delighted onlookers by gracing the Chanel show catwalk following her recent cancer recuperation. Karl Lagerfeld’s creations did not disappoint either with fantastic modern styled tweed creations, combined with denim boots and jeweled heels, three-quarter length coats, jeweled fingerless gloves which flirtatiously left the models shoulders bare, and tantalizing touches of brocade.
This year men were well represented in the fashion stakes, following on from years of conservative styling. Collections of monochrome suits, surfer style inspired prints and cutting-edge sportswear abounded with unisex portfolios presented in characteristic style by Jean Paul Gaultier, with possible Dior future designer, Kris Van Assche, displaying interchangeable his and hers suits.
Paris fashion is however more eternal than simply the high profile shows. A quick flight to Paris or a trip through the channel tunnel and this style centre of Europe can be within the grasp of any Brit aspiring to a little bit of European chic.

Fashion Dash, the name caught my attention. If you think this is a game just for kids, you’re in for a shock. This time management game is so challenging as to pass each levels, the goals are set high. Thus, to get it pass the levels, practice makes perfect. More practice will let you get used to the features of the game, but it’s still challenging nevertheless. Are you ready? Sit tight while I just go through the review.
This game is similar to Diner Dash, if you have played Diner Dash before, this will be easier. Except Diner Dash is on restaurant management while Fashion Dash is on clothes and accessories shop. I have played the one hour trial that I have downloaded, I have just passed the third level, going on to fourth. Have used too much time on the third level which I need to reach the goal of the money earn.
Okay…here are some tips. To serve the customers that comes in to the shop, sit them down at the matching color of the changing room. If the color of their shirt does not match the changing room’s color, they can be served as well…it’s just that the money earn will be lesser. The cash earned can be used to upgrade the changing room.
Then take the catalogs for the customers and wait for them to review. Once they are ready, take the measurements and send the order to the seamstress. After that take the ready made clothes to the customers and get the payment from them in return. After the customers have left, take the hanger and place it at the right place. Well…it seems easy if there are just a couple of people to attend to. But with four or more customers, you have to juggle more task and do multitasking at the same time.
Not only that, some customers feel inadequate without accessories. So take the watches, necklaces, bags or shoes to the customers if they want the accessories. Try not to keep them wait for too long, else they will be dissatisfied. And then, you’ve guessed it, they will pay you less or straight away run out from the store!
